Munia is premium chocolate from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The name Munia itself is taken from the name of the famous Munia bird which is beautiful and graceful. Mr. Thamer as the owner of Munia said that he wanted Munia to appear premium, luxurious, clear and simple. He believes that Munia chocolate has the best quality in its class.
In Saudi Arabia itself, especially the city of Riyadh, there are already many premium chocolate shop brands that serve various types of the best quality chocolate with different tastes.
One of the challenges for the design team was how to give character to Munia’s identity so that it was easy to recognize, feel and identify. We focused on the feeling conveyed by the brand identity rather than the munia bird character, but the munia bird character still exists as a monogram accompanying the main identity of the brand.
The Munia identity should find a balance a long modern,
clean, luxurious and timeless.
It should feel;
sturdy than feminin,
elegant than old,
modern than old classic.
This identity will strengthen the concept of Munia Chocolate which
specialized in providing good chocolate products,
unique experience and representative atmosphere of luxurious,
high class, affordable and emotional benefits for customers.
We chose a sans serif font called Florensans (by Milan Pleva) as the Munia logo type, this typeface has an elegant and modern style. To give a strong character we combine the letters U-N as characters in the Munia logotype.
Munia’s packaging design is made simple, clear, luxurious with pearl white color and silver hot foil on the logo. This is to convey the impression of a premium and delicious product.
